Thanks Dianne,my Arab is 18 & has been competing in endurance for 10 years & never been lame so hoping this isn't going to be serious..but it did force me to face my fear & climb back on Amigo,so not all bad. This is a pic of my really great trainer,Ronni on Amigo. She says she'd like to show him for me at an October show .Since she's shown Prix St.George & won many championships here in Ca. it's an honor she'll ride him! This is so exciting and odd how I missed this post wen you fist made it last week. You look so great up on amazing Amigo'. Fear just takes time to work thru' I am right with ya', I have amazed myself in how my confidence has retrned over the just the past 6mths. Still I have more to gain back and be aware when anxiety wants to creep in. I am so glad you are both reconnecting under saddle. Equally exciting is that your trainer is still enjoying riding Amigo as well, so much so she has asked to show him. That is not a common thing Amigo' must indeed be a nice guy 18 is young for an Arabian, I wish yours great recovery for many more years of happy trails.

Hey Tiffany,I'm just back from taking Amigo to the beach.I still haven't riden him out of the arena but have been camping at an endurance race & hung out at a big local trailride so he's getting "out in the world".My lessons are on Fridays & he's doing really well. I just got a message from my friend Chris who bought Prarie from Dianne & she's ready to start trail riding her & wants to go out with me & Amigo so it'll be 2 kigers heading out soon! I hear she'd doing really well but haven't seen her yet cause Chris didn't have a truck & lives about 25 miles out from me in the middle of no-where......got her truck & trailer so we're on!Will get pics! Trying to use the fear as "awareness" & a good tight saddle helps too!Ride on...I'm following the Tevis on the live webcast...got friends riding it.

Yeah..I keep working on my balance and flexability. The better I feel about my abilities to handle a situation, the less I worry about the what ifs' with my horse.

Another milestone today..rode Amigo alone on the trail..only about 1 mile out of a 4 mile trek but it took that long to find a place to mount..he's so darn big!! but managed to find a log & he co-operated with some firm discussions....He's doing really well in the arena & all the training helped today when he got a little jumpy & I asked him to bend & leg yield instead of stiffening up & spooking ..yeh! it worked!! More to come..feeling optimistic & happy with my big boy!
