Put a small pile of bedding, shavings or straw, approximately 4 feet across and 5 inches deep, near the path that the horses walk to go into the barn or shed about 20 feet from the barn. They often will stop and pee on it instead of using the barn or shed for a latrine. I have seen them go into the barn or shed just to use it as a potty and walk back out. Ugh! This reduces how often they do that. Old bedding, wasted hay or straw can be used. They like it because it stops the splash.

Great idea!!!! I have a few horses that always wait until they come in to pee...this should help that!
