WOW Kiger things have changed.....in the few(5) years since I have been blessed to have a Kiger around.
I sold my Kiger Mares in 2002 and kept my Sulphur's. My sister's Kiger Mare 2E went with her and thenlater to be boarded on a Paso Fino ranch.
I ended up selling my Sulphur's about 4 years ago when the ranch I was living and working on was lost to foreclosure and I thought there was an impending move back east. That never happened.
Last Dec. I and my friend Lori acquired 3 more Sulphur's. We are training them now.
Fast forward to last week. There is a Kiger in my life again. My sister's Mare 2E a dun, fully trained, has come to live with me again.
I went looking for the old Kiger haunts and could not find them and then I landed here. Looks like much has changed and much is same-o-same-o.
Glad to be back, glad 2E is back and adjusting just fine.

Hey Charlie, good to hear from you again. Are you still writing poetry? Some of the faces have changed, and the level of drama has decreased dramatically. So it's good. Kigers are holding their own in the down economy.

Not written any poetry lately, but every now and again I get inspired.
I thought I could walk away from wild horses. I did for almost 3 years, then went to Oregon in Oct. to look at a horse for Lori. I was content to do that for her and thought I'd still be able to walk away from it......
5 minutes or so in a round pen with an untrained horse told me different. My eyes teared up and I got goose bumps and knew I could not stay away. I had to gentle just one more. We ended up bringing back 3 mares Ages 5, 8, and 10 and all have since had their birthdays. Then 2E came back. She'll stay with me and my sister will come and visit when she can. 2E will be used to pony the others and we'll ride her as she is a good trail horse. Doesn't mind going in a group or by herself.
I see lots of names I remember and a lot of new ones too. That is a good thing.

Hi Charlie, I remember your interesting posts from when my daughter got our first Kiger, Miley. A lot has happened since then. I now have three Kigers of my own. I bought a Kiger mare Riddle Mountain Springtime with her colt by Kiger Sundance, Bolero, who is a stunning stallion. The mare came with a surprise package, and we were presented with a filly on Mother's Day, named Chica Bonita. She is a big beautiful, well built, athletic girl. We are in SE Michigan. Looking forward to your posts again.
