My sister was over and we were discussing Pondo's dealth and she said that is a yew tree in the pasture and they are poisonous to horses! 6-8 oz's of fresh yoew can kill a horse quickly with no signs beforehand. It attacks the heart. So I just thought I would share with you all and maybe save a horse! I don't know anything about trees or bushes but there are quite a few poisonous to horses, such as cherry. www.naturalhorsetraining.com/poisonousplants.html

That is so likely to be the cause! I am glad that you now know and may prevent another terrible loss.
