I hope it wasn't serious. It had to be a pretty good wing ding though to land her in the hospital

Sounds like she has a few more days at the rehab and will be in a back brace for a while. Must be hard for her to be inactive. Posted on 4/21 by a friend on facebook: Hi Friends of Sue! She asked me to post a quick update to let you know that she suffered a fractured vertebra last Monday when she was thrown from a horse at her home. She is in the Kaiser Med Center in Roseville until Thursday or Friday and then may be transferred to a rehab facility with a large back brace...I'm sure she'll appreciate your kind thoughts!!

I don't know about Sue, but if you have osteopina or osteoporosis you can break a vertebrae pretty easily.

Hello All. Thanks for all the well wishes. I was very surprised to see my name as the heading on a thread.
Yes I had an 'unplanned dismount" from a BLM mustang filly I was starting. It was her second ride. Upon landing I ended up with a fractured vertebra. I will be in a body cast for 3 months and grounded for one year.
In a year I will be able to ride again with no problems, but in the meantime I cannot afford to feed these horses for that long with out work so shortly all my Kigers will be for sale.
Thanks for all your kind thoughts and well wishes. Email anytime, not used to being house bound, lots of time to chat.
Sue

Lol, "unplanned dismount"..I have got to remember that for future use. Glad to hear you are okay and that it wasn't anything more serious. That is sad to hear about your kigers though . I hope something works out.

I am very gald to hear that you will recover and be able to ride again in the future. I am so very sorry that you are in a position now that will have to sell some of your horses to get thru the recovery. I wish you the best in finding them wonderful new homes.

Glad to hear you're ok Sue but sad that you're not going to be able to ride for a year. We never seem to fall as easy as when we were young kids...I hope you get well fast and get back on those horses....the kiger world will miss you for sure!

Sue, glad you are "bouncing" back. You're not one to eat dust for long. You'll find something to keep you occupied I'm sure. Let us know about your Kigers and we will refer people to you.
