I hope a "Kiger person" gets a hold of him before someone else. He is beautiful, and priced cheap. I wish he was closer to me!

I thought the same thing. MD is about 9 hours away from me. The owner emailed me back and said this:
He is domestic bred, was ridden as a 2 yr old but not since. He is 7 now. 14 hands, from last owner he was just turned out for years. So needs exp handling, he can be sweet but is spooky. I have only been turning out in the round pen so I can catch him
And I emailed her back asking about bloodlines. Maybe I can get someone interested in him!

Be very careful. I owned Lord Blackstone and Lacy Lady, plus two fillies out of them. Lord Blackstone was bred by the owner of SMKR, and he refused to register my two fillies sired by Lord Blackstone. I finally did get them registered with the KMA. Lord Blackstone is totally black and has the most beautiful extended trot I have ever seen on a horse, so this stallion in MD may really move nicely, but I really do doubt that you can register this horse.

Well, even if he can't be registered, he'd make a gorgeous gelding. Anyone know someone that's looking for a real deal and wants a Kiger?

Hopefully a potential home for this horse won't be scared off by this doubt. The woman said she has spoken to the owner of the registry who said he can be registered with out a problem so I see no reason to question. Sometimes our horses are the innocent victims in inconsequential problems. This is a horse who needs a person to help him overcome a past that may not have been the best. The present owner is looking for the best for this guy. Angela, I too hope someone who gives him the time and "does" with him hooks up with him. Bill, you are right as far as Stone's beautiful trot and the possibility of it being passed along. I can say first hand that it is a trait that he has passed along.

I would take him in a heartbeat if he was closer to me! MD Is a good 8 or 9 hour drive, plus cost of fuel to get him, and the $500 to buy him on top of that. I'm just not in a good enough financial situation to justify that kind of purchase right now. Anyone interested at all? Anyone know someone that might be interested?

New info! He is now FREE TO GOOD HOME..... Someone posted this on another forum:
My barn manager is losing her business (a boarding stable) and can't afford to continue boarding all of the horses that she has at another place. She has a BEAUTIFUL papered Kieger mustang stud that she needs to find a home for before May 1st - he is free to an excellent home.
From Owner: Kiger mustang stallion, GORGEOUS buckskin with tiger striping on his legs. Big baby, and not very studdish at all. He can be turned out with geldings or pregnant mares. Proven breeder with papers. Easy to get along with. All he really needs is someone to work with him regularly and he would be excellent.
From Me: He'd make a really nice gelding - nice movement, very handsome, very sure footed, wants to learn. He is spooky (like afraid of his own shadow) and will need someone w/ experience that can work with him.
The poor boy has been in a stall for quite some time now. He has learned that he can pull away on the lead and take off because his owner has a bad shoulder and can't work with him and he's gotten away from her quite a few times...now it's a game to him. I've lead him in and out of the round pen and to and from the barn and he definitely has the brains to learn and isn't mean at all, but h'e's going to need an experienced handler who can take the time to work and teach him. He WANTS to learn. I REALLY like this horse....lots of potential that is being wasted
With proper training, I personally think he would be outstanding he's oohhhhh soooo gorgeous!!
If anyone is interested, please let me know and I'll put you in touch with his owner. She really needs to find him somewhere to go by May 1st, since that is when she has to be out of the farm she's at.

Karen,
I like the horse, and we both know that in the right hands he would do well. In fact, I am currently emailing with his owner, asking about the stallion, and telling her a little about his sire and dam. SMKR papers would not affect the horse nor his value. No one wants him as a stallion anyway, so papers should not matter to them.
