this filly is in Molalla Or, I found her on Portland.Craigslist. I think another completely green one is too much for me this year, but I really like her, and asked the guy if I could post her here. His name is Mike. here is the text of the add:
"Kiger Mustang Filly $425. Here is your opportunity to own a Kiger Mustang that will be three in April. She is over fourteen hands tall and is either black or dark grulla. You can see a dorsal stripe, light ear tips, and other dun characteristics. Isabella or "Bella" grows a lot of hair! I have her application for registration in hand and you could rename her whatever you want. The price is a loss to me, but circumstances have changed and I am willing to let this filly go to the right home. Bella leads, ties, and can be brushed. Although the price is low, I am not desperate to sell. I want to give someone a good deal who will appreciate this classy Kiger filly. You can respond to this ad or call me at (503) 829-7309. If you call, please leave a message, a phone number and speak clearly".
There is a pic on the add, but I couldn't get it to copy here.
And here are his answers to some of my questions:
This filly was domestic born. Her dam is Buswell Kiger Peke a Boo. Peke a Boo is a grulla freeze branded mare. The sire is Buswell Kiger Red Flame and he is a domestic born Kiger that was conceived in the wild. Flame is a bright red dun.
Bella has had very little training. Limitations on my time are a big part of why she is available at such a low price. She leads, ties, and can be brushed. I paste wormed her minutes ago with no problem and gave her a vaccination for eastern, western and tetanus also with no problem. Bella came to me as wild, or wilder, than any horses that I have gotten from the BLM, and has basically tamed herself. That is a good sign, but she has very little formal training.
She is 14 hands and one inch. If you know mustangs, you know it is more typical that they keep growing some up to about age five.
