Well, our Midwest Mustang and Burro Saddle Club was invited by the BLM to bring some horses up to the adoption this past weekend to do some PR work....SO my Kiger colt (who's almost 3) went along with my daughter's WY mustang mare...We had a blast...Another member brought tarps, cones, a big tree stump, and an umbrella for us to all play with....we set up a fun course and Cord did awesome....Even got up on the stump very well...Also a group of 4H kids came and practiced their horse judging on our horses to the crowd's delight....And my daughter vaulted with another lady on a 15yr old mustang mare...The aforementioned lady and the BLM would now like her to join them at Equine Affaire in Ohio to do it(we'll see)...Can't count the amount of times I had to tell people "NO Cord is not for sale or in the adoption"....Wish I had pics, I took tons of other people, but don't know if anyone took any pics of Cordero and I...we'll see...
Most importantly HALF of the horses were adopted....YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!! That's darn good for our Eastern States I think!

Oh happy day! what a wonderful impression Cord must have made, especially with all the obstacles in the course. He sure is proof of how solid a mustang can be, and beautiful too.

Thanks....My favorite days are when a bunch of well trained mustangs get together to show off how great of a horse these mustangs can be! Whether it's a trail ride, horse show, or other demo type it's a blast!
One other fun thing I just learned about....A nice lady that adopted on Saturday (took home a pregnant mare) is going to make a special trip to the holding facility in Illinois because her daughter is just totally heart broken about not being able to adopt the yearling she fell in love with. She said she thought her daughter would get over it but she's never ever seen her pine for anything like this at all...So now the mom is preparing for a road trip!
We also had a teenager that fell in love with one of the geldings at the adoption...She called her dad and asked if it was ok if she got another horse...he said no....Well, the morning of the adoption itself, Diane from the mustang club (who is their neighbor) got a call and the dad told her to adopt it for them; Diane will foster it till it's halterbroke and then they will take it home...When the girl came over to Diane's to see what she brought home from the adoption, she cried because she thought Diane had brought it home to TIP train/foster for someone else...You should have seen how happy she was when her dad told her "Surprise, he's all yours"....AWW....
We even managed to get a blind(in one eye) gelding adopted! Very cool....
