The camera was my old Canon Powershot S3IS. I also put the setting to "foliage" which saturates the color to make it as vibrant as I saw it in real life. It was absolutely gorgeous weather. LOL...I tend to always focus on the photogenic horses. So, if you ever see me taking pictures or videos of the same horse, you know that I like them out of the group (unless I have a request from the owner to "focus" on their horse). That colt has really blossomed. While he was in utero, his mother had been on mild pain killers due to an injury with her leg, but he was so tiny and refined when he was born. We told the owner that it was most likely due to the pain killers since he looked nothing like the other babies by the same sire (Tough Game). The two largest fillies (the ones with the most white) are by the same sire and are about the same age as him www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1SGEvs6oOE . I made the little videos so the owners could "look" at their horses, since most of them only get to see their horses a couple times a year. I will probably remove the videos (or make a fun collage) when I know the owners are done seeing them to make room for more.

Well, I decided that I wanted some much needed pictures of Mojito. Our weather can't decide what it wants to be, so we have been having a little bit of everything (except for snow). He has been up for a little bit, so he learns to survive outside of a crazy group of bachelors. He no longer is a nervous little boy, but he has to check everything out even if it is scary. We are getting sand in our arena and it has been crazy windy, so we decided to move some horses around and put Mojito out with another gelding for a little bit. Its always hard on the young horses to be up in pens when it is really windy and they want to run. So, I want him to get all that energy out without learning any potential bad habits from being bored in a pen. The gelding we put him out with (recently gelded) was always the top dog of the herd he was with. We knew he could put Mojito in his place if Mojito acted like an annoying little brother. They sniffed each other for a bit and did some squealing. Then Mojito put his nose to the ground and walked/trotted around the pasture. Then it was play time/ sizing each other up. They raced around the pasture and then would stop and had a "leaning" war against each other. Mojito tried stepping it up more on more, while the gelding was pretty good humored/ just toyed with him about it. Then Mojito decided to try to get a good bite in and the gelding gave him a pretty nice wack to his side. You could tell Mojito was a little shocked about it, but didn't want to show, so he decided to act cool and trot off while sniffing the ground and gathering up the pieces of his ego. They settled down after that and Mojito was content to be lieutenant of the herd of two. These pictures were taken in the late evening (spur of the moment, because there was no wind), so it created some very artistic looking pictures.

Wonderful shots! Is this your new camera? He's grown up so much and added so much muscle, definitely not a little boy any more. He looks fabulous Sarah. Such a little twerp! Glad you have the right big guys to keep him in line.

This was off of my Canon 50D. I am trying to teach my mom how to use her new camera, so I got her out there to video tape. I just watched some of the clips and she got some pretty nice shots for her first time . I'll see if I can chop them up and make them into a little movie clip. He is such a laid back guy that I have to take advantage of anytime he is really excited about something. Being around TBs has definitely made him want to run more, because that is all they want to do when they play. So, that's probably where he is getting some of his muscle from
