The other morning the sun made an appearance and the guinea hens have been eating with the horses with the addition of some oat hay. So I took the opportunity to take a snapshot

Guinea hens...Tiffany, you are a better woman than I! We had six when we first moved here and E V E R Y time I came out of the house (which was at least a dozen times a day), they would throw a hissy fit and complain for ten minutes straight. No matter how much I told them that I live here, they would not give it up! Had to get rid of the little noise boxes...although I did miss their little football bodies running across the lawn, snatching flies out of the air - very entertaining!

The guinea hens are characters and they yell at me as well ...I have been known to throw a rock at one or two...LOL ;D When they are inside the barn it is deafening. They do not like my daughter and always let me know when she is near..LOL. I always get asked if they are good watch dogs ....Yes and No. They scream at me just as much as a stranger and if something really scary comes around they shut up quick so they don't get noticed.....LOL They are however cheaper then an exterminator and keep the bugs and ants at bay

We have always been tempted to get guinea hens, if we had problems with ticks then that would be enough to get them. They remind me of fun prehistoric animals, like baby emus. As is, we are fine with the two little wild roosters that run around.

Looks as though you have a reprieve from the snow. Horses look fat and happy. Super looks super. No Guinea's here, but we have turkeys that just live mostly in our yard and the immediate area. Lots of turkeys. Lots of turkey poop. We made a rule not to feed anything to the turkeys near the house because it just encourages them to hang out there. One day I had some grapes that were past their prime and was in a hurry so just went to the back door and tossed them for the turkeys. Hubby caught me and verbally corrected the error of my ways. The next day my kids and grand kids came over for dinner and when they were getting ready to leave via the back door, our African Grey parrot yelled out, " don't feed the turkeys, they nuts all over by the the back door"! Everyone broke out in laughter.
About 20 or so turkeys were roosting on the round pen one afternoon, when 2 toms started fighting inside the round pen making it look as though they were putting on a thingy fight.
It looks impressive when hubby or I go to the barn and 30-70 turkeys follow. We look like the pied piper. My daughter's Kiger used to like to herd them.

I like turkeys as well, my daughter wants to purchase some turkeys this spring. I can not imagine however having 30-70 of them WOW That would have been a great picture of the fight in the round pen viewed by the group ... To funny about your african grey's comments, that is laugh out loud funny ;D
