not just a dorsal stripe down his back, but ear tips and liner as well. I often try and look for other signs of dun beside the dorsal stripe because some folks will question whether it might be countershading.

Pretty! but he sure is showing off type! Look at that hindquarter. Almost looks like a QH butt. Clearly the warmblood and TB influences of the PRE are coming through. He also displays a very modern wedge shaped head.
Nice to see different colors though popping up in PRE horses. I remember once seeing a PRE at the 2003 Western States Horse Expo that had mottling on his face like an appy. I have also seen PRE horses displaying what the Spaniards 500 years ago called haca horses aka English horses that had the pinto colors with blazes and stockings. Was neat seeing a pinto PRE, although only from online. I will try to look that mare up for you guys. Obviously, another rare color in the PRE!

Gorgeous!!! I love the dun markings - I like to see more prominant markings than just the dorsal as well, the black on the legs that goes all the way up to the body almost is awesome!

Most desired color for Andalusians, at least some lines, has been grey until just recently. It hides a whole bunch of colors. Michelle, this stallion looks to be dunskin, do you think?

You know what Dianne, you may be right. I was thinking he did not have the body coloring of a regular dun, so that may be it...

Yes, its rather yellow like a buckskin instead of the normal dun color on that guy. There is a son of Indiano XVIII here in Washington named Cazar. Definite dun stripe, and I've noticed that Indiano's non grey foals are sooty, so he may be sooty dun? Odd color anyway, it would be interesting to see if they've tested him for creme. If you have never seen Indiano XVIII look him up! Magnificent, amazing grey Andalusian. Its rare to find one of his sons standing at stud. He also has a son in Colorado, a wonderful balck, Conquistador, that I've been watching for quite a while. His dam is out of Genil, another famous Andalusian.
