I am so excited! I have one of my horses in training with Eric at EquQuest and he put the saddle on her for the first time yesterday! She did so amazing. He was even able to just sit on her and she was fine with everything! Eric said she was one of the best Quarter Horses he had started. It was really amazing to watch. She is the first horse I have owned that I have seen get started and that I have been involved in starting too.
Cici is a 2 1/2 yo Foundation QH. I can really see what a difference being raised in a herd and having good breeding does for a horse.
I can't wait to pass on her genetics. She will be bred to Michelle's stallion, Desi, in the Spring. Her mother is bred to Desi for an '08 foal, so I'll get a sneak peak at what they might produce. Solana, my avatar, is also Cici's half sister.

Oh how exciting indeed. You must get a picture of her on here when you can. It is so wonderful that you can be there and be involved with the trainer. It will surely make it all the much easier when it is your turn in the saddle.

I can't wait to get in the saddle. When she trotted the saddle hardly moved. She just looks like she will be so much fun to ride.
BTW, I forgot to mention that Solana is half Kiger. Her sire is Charro.

Congratulations! I understand your excitement. I visited my 2 1/2 year old Kiger at the trainer Tuesday and got to ride her for the first time. It was amazing. Do you have any idea how long it might be before you ride Cici?

I am not sure how long it will be. I will have to see what Eric says. I was in a car accident 4 years ago and have a big rod in my leg. It is really important that I not fall off. So, Eric is going to make sure she is really safe for me before I get on. So, I am going to wait until he says its ok. It is so hard to wait! But she did so well the first time, I might not have to wait as long as I first thought I would. I will definetly post when I do.
I will post some pictures of her with the saddle and if I get on will have someone take pictures and post those too.

Ouch, that sounds bad! I hear you about the falling off. Not that you can totally eliminate the risk, but you have to do everything you can to minimize it. That is why I am investing in an experienced trainer also. As a older rider, I can't afford to fall off either.
Looking forward to your pictures!

Thank you. I love her dapples too. I think they make her color really appealing. She is a very sweet horse. Here is a picture of her talking to my daughter.

Precious....Cici must have said something funny! Your daughter looks about the same age as my grandson. Linda

I have gotten on Leila a few times so far and she's learning fast and maturing well. It will be fun to see our babies grow up and their training progress. I can't wait!

What a soft and sweet looking girl! That last picture of Eric with Cici looks like a "letting it soak" time. She has a lovely head and is so sweet with your daughter. Nice horse!

Thank you guys for your kind words. She is really a great horse. I think she is going to make a great mom and have beautiful, smart babies. Especially when we add in the Kiger!
