Please forward to all horse/animal people on your list...
Mike Gallagher, the sheriff from Adna, that was killed on duty by an elk, gave his 10 yr old daughter a horse 2 weeks before he was killed. Due to circumstances and without him there to help, the horse needs to find a new home QUICK. He was(and still is) being kept by some friends while fencing was repaired, but now that they are finding him a new home, the mother doesn't want him to come back just to be ripped from the little girl again. She has gone through enough already! He is a 24 yr old chestnut quarter horse. He has 2 partial whites on his left side and 2 half socks on his right side. He is bombproof and very broke to ride. FREE TO GOOD HOME!
Unfortunately, the people keeping him, no longer have room for him, due to their farm/ranch business and he needs to find a home within a week.

Where are they located? Poor girl, too bad she can't keep the horse. It would be great consolation and company for her.

I don't know, Dianne. I just tried calling and the number doesn't work, so I emailed in hopes of finding out more. I'm hoping we can put together some sort of fund that would allow her to keep the last gift her daddy ever gave her. There must be a boarding facility who'd be willing to make a sacrifice in terms of their overhead if other needs were being met.
