I have one of those lick-it treats that hangs from a tree in my pasture. I figure if it is hanging it would take even longer for the horses to lick it down to nothing as it swings away when they go up to it. My older horses pretty much ignore the treat tree no matter how appealing the lick-its are. but the young horses make a bee line for the treat tree as soon as I load it up as they have learned the treat tree takes three and the lick-it is gone in less then 1/2 hour if they work together as you can see. There is the dun Wickee 3 yr old, Princess Pintaloosa 4 yr old and Chips the bay 2 yr old. There is the dun Wickee 3 yr old, Princess Pintaloosa 4 yr old and Chips the bay 2 yr old. Only if they all munch on it at once can they keep it from swinging away.

love the pictures Tiffany. So they love the treat tree and what hangs in it, that is so cool. How often do you replace it?

I only fill it maybe once or twice a month with peppermint or apple flavor treat. It gives them something to do, but it makes a real mess of their fur and faces as they have to take turns bracing it against their face, while someone else licks or nibbles on it. The part you see hanging in the tree is just the apple snack part of the toy with out the ball. Here is a link to what they are munching on... www.valleyvet.com/horse-toys/Jolly-Stall-Snack-and-Ball

Tiffany:
You ought to send that story and pics to the manufacturer! That's a riot.....So much for the swinging treat!

Wow! Horses aren't smart? ? That took some timing and cooperation to accomplish. Yes I would definately send that to the manufacture; you might just get some free treats! I think that they earned it! Linda D

Yep' it is pretty amazing to watch them take their places when I walk out to the tree with the treat. They manage pretty well with just two of them as well, but three is the majic number for for really munching away at it. I just may send it in a email to the manufacture and see what happens, I guess you never know.
