Hey Angel, That mare of yours is the nicest looking horse in the group. She stands out in that group and I bet just about anyone could guess that she is a Kiger Mustang. Keep up the good work and also remember to keep it fun. Melissa

Thanks! I know my face looks awful, but I was concentrating a lot - I have to remember to smile!! Even tho Im thinking hard This was the 1st time performing out of our arena - so we were a bit nervous but it all went great. Our coaches want us to eventually go competative and compete in drill team shows. We have a very good shot at it - our 2 coaches team went to the nationals in texas this year and got reserve champion. So they are good! Melissa, this is so much fun. I enjoy it and everyone is shocked when I say my mare is a Kiger mustang - everyone thinks she's a quarter horse. But I get lots of compliments from everyone on her. She is my baby doll - I can do anything on her and can't imagine riding another kind of horse except a kiger. I got some great pics of us doing the ribbon race - I'll have to post. That was so much fun. There were 10 teams I think - we rocked it but our coach was the winner Everyone was cheering for us... Of course my Bella is coming up, so she will be the replacement for lakota when the time comes. She's so amazing as well. Ive been hauling her to all of our drill team practices just to get her out into the world - she loves it and is taking it with great stride. We have an obstacle challenge coming up in a few weeks that Im putting Bella and Lakota in.... I sticked Bella a few weeks ago and she is 13.3 hands now! She's got a little sweat on her back from where I was playing iwth her earlier.

Pics from the ribbon race - The final 2 teams left!! Ok so don't laugh but here I was at the Hotdog fishing = had to take a bite out of the hotdog without touching it - it was flopping around everywhere!! Lakota entertaining in between rides - doing what kiger's do best!

How wonderful! You look great and what an opportunity for your Kigers! What fun. I'm envious. I would love to be in a drill team. I would especially love to be in with a team of all Kigers. Wouldn't that be special. I look forward to hearing about more of your adventures.

These things really encourage us to use our horses and improve our riding. Too much fun seeing your pictures!! I have ridden for the past two years with the Wild Women of the Frontier (www.wwfrontier.com - website is terribly out of date but still quite fun) and last summer I think I was riding my best ever and I felt good about what I could do and I was having so much fun with my horses. I only used mustangs for the wild and crazy women group! This year I went inactive but who knows what next year holds, I do miss all the riding it encouraged me to do. Good job and thanks for sharing!! Kristi

Ok - so had to share this. I went to a trail horse challenge yesterday and they had a goat in the middle of the arena - well Lakota just wasn't going to have that. She spotted that goat 1st thing when I walked her down to the arena and she turned around and took off, scared her to death. I thought after a few hours of standing there waiting our turn, she'd calm down, NOPE, as soon as she entered the gate, I could feel her heart pounding - she just knew the heavens had sent down the killer of us all I barely got her thru the 1st obstacle, the 2nd I had to bypass, just way to close to the killer for her - got her thru the rest of them but she kept her eye on the killer the whole time. We came in 6th even after the fuss - I took her in after it was over with and introduced her to the killer, she was able to sniff it but she still was unsure about it - everyone there was shocked at Lakota because they have never seen her act like that, they said theyve never seen her head that high before But we worked thru it - just found new things I can work on with her A few pics of course!! You can see the huge killer goat!! The pics of us were at the end so she was not as bad by then! www.mountainstreamsaddleclub.com/show%20pictures%209-27-09.htm

Wow--that looks like the scariest trail challenge I've ever seen! Great job just getting through it! The tarp tunnel alone would've been too scary for me, LOL. I've done one before, but not that low. The goat does look rather devious, ha ha. I'm sure one of mine would've had the same feeling Lakota did!
What is the guy with pole and the blue barrels doing??
