I was able to pony Isabelle on a trail ride this week, which for most two year olds would be a good thing, but not spectacular. But for Isabelle, who broke her pelvis last February, this was a remarkable day. I was so thrilled that she finally got to do what every normal two year old should get to do. The extra blessing is that I ponied her off my mare that I adopted as a 12 year old, and thought I would NEVER get anywhere with. I started riding my mare, Conchetta, last February, and I still think it is a miracle every time I get on!. Now, Isabelle has never been ponied before, and Conchetta has never been used to pony, so it was something of a comedy show, trying to keep them both going in the same direction at the same time! But I couldn't stop grinning. My daughter snapped a couple pics as we left. Isabelle really isn't taller than her momma; just looks that way in the pics.

A hearty congratulations on both. I love Conchetta's main. Bi-color is so pretty. The gal that purchased the old red flecked stallion posted pics of him when he arrived home and have been following his progress. She's had people really go after her for picking up an old mustang that wasn't worth anything, rather than saving a domestically bred horse.

WOW Lil! What great pics! I can see you gleaming in them. What a great day for sure...glad Isabella was able to get out and see the world....and Conchetta - yep, that's pretty amazing. Ive heard its very hard to adopt an older mare from the wild....so a big YIPPEE from Georgia for ya!!!
