Wow, what an amazing difference! That was definitely a diamond in the rough on the beginning picture, all dirty and skinny.

My husband says I have an un-natural fixation with that horse, lol. I can stand and pet him and dote on him all day, and take so many pics it isn't even funny. I tell him it's because Tesoro is my dream horse and soul mate. He just doesn't understand.

It could be said that we are all fixated in that case. Rick used to wonder why I could get so excited at horses in the wild when we had 6 at home, but bless him, he will now stop on the HMA for me just to watch them, even if it is with binoculars, so he "gets it" and agrees that the silhoutte of a horse on a ridge top is worth the trip out there.
Tesoro sure looks healthy and happy now and your adventures are just beginning.

I showed my hubby all of the 'after' pictures, then showed him the 'before' picture. He refuses to believe that it's the same horse

My daughter's Kiger looked that bad when she brought her home and that was after 6 weeks of recovery and a bath. When Lisa first saw her she had balls of manure hanging from her entire body even her chest and Lisa could not tell what color she was. Her hind foot was sliced wide open and she was standing in 3 feet of manure in a dog pen size space. The infection was so bad that she wouldn't even eat, and barely looked up. When Lisa led her out of the shelter she could see her eye and lovely ears and she nickered at Lisa. The lady was so impressed with her reaction to Lisa that she knew it was a match. Lisa cried the rest of the day after seeing her and became obsessed with getting her out of the situation the she was in. The person who owned her had been injured too and just couldn't handle the situation. Her other horses were in good condition. That is why I have a real soft spot for Tesoro, seeing his recovery with tender loving care and a bond that heals.

Amanda:
I just drool over how good T man looks! I still see some lankiness in him and bet by the time he reaches full maturity he will be even more awesome.....I look at him and think "Wow, hope Cord looks that good in another year!"....I love watching him grow up; it's like having an older brother around as a gauge at how Cord will be! I think of the heartbreak at his condition when you got him, and the stifle issue.....WOW...He's come a LONG way....
AWESOME!

I love showing before and after pics of Tesoro. I think it's a great example of what any Mustang can become. So many people can't overlook a little scruffiness at the adoptions to see what a horse can become with some TLC. And I think T-man still has some growing to do. According to the string test, he should top out around 15 to 15.1 hands. He's right at 14.3 right now. And since I've started trail riding him, I haven't seen him have any stifle issues in months. Maybe muscling him up was all he needed!

I think you're right about the muscling up. And isn't he the handsome man! I was just thinking the same as Angela...he looks amazing now but just wait until he finishes growing up and filling out! For those who don't know, it would be cool to hear his story, and I'd like to hear it again.

WOW! T-man sure does look good - it's amazing to see the before and afters. I applaud all of you who adopt a wild one and gentle. I have not yet - maybe one day. Amanda, how tall is Tesora now? You guys have lots of adventure ahead of you. Any more shows that you've done?
