I'm still so amazed at how well Bella has taken to tying. She has had no blow ups - just stands tied like a good girl. I have progressed into the barn now, still not tying, just looping lead rope around pole and I put her beside Lakota so she would feel more relaxed in a new place to tie - nothing Just shows how great the kiger's are - anyone else want to share there training experiences with our lovely kigers!

Excellent--she looks very calm--and so grown up!

She looks very calm and relaxed, so nice to see. Wickee will take that pose after about 10min. of being tied. For the first ten min. she figits, makes attempts to throw a fit and see if she can get a reaction from me. On occassion she will pull back and act like a goof'. She is Fantasy's daughter and those reactions have had me come running to her before, so she will give them a try and see if I will untie her. At this stage and age I ignore her and those silly tricks are getting less frequent and she settles in to just standing like Bella' there more quickly.

Glad to see Bella doing so well tying.....She must be very responsive to giving to pressure to tie so wonderfully! I too had great luck with my Kiger colt...He's tested some stuff a couple times but in no seriousness....
What are your newest goals with her? I know I had my gelding packing around my english saddle as a yearling, and really enjoyed ponying him all around....Right now with him I'm working on lots of ground work....working over ground poles, getting him used to gunfire, and just continuing to play and have fun!
BTW, I'm enjoying your drill team updates.....I used to ride drill as a kid (still would if there was an adult one around her) and now my 12yr old daughter rides drill on her mustang mare....I think it's a blast...and definately harder than it looks!

Tiffany - thats funny about Wickee acting up to get your attention - its funny what they will learn to get you over there to them...she sounds like a character. I sure cant wait to see you riding her Angela - I'm taking Bella out to an obstacle challenge to do the in hand trail class with her in sept...me and Lakota are going to be in it as well. I plan on putting a bareback pad on Bella here soon to get her used to something on her like you did with the dressage saddle - and like you, just lots of playing with her. Babies definately take a lot of time. Thanks for the compliment on the drill team - it is fun. we just got a bunch of people together and started our own. Alot of the woman on our drill team hardly know how to ride so its been really great watching them progress..I got some new pics from last sat show but havent posted them yet

You are doing a great job with her Angel. A bareback pad is a great idea. Ashli already has Snoop wearing one. Next she is going to start ponying him from Casino, then we will start to take him with us on trail rides.
