Chance is eating hay out of my hand, and Liberty gets within 2-3 feet where she waits for me to set it down so she can eat feeling a bit more secure. I think that's pretty darned good for an 11 year old mare! For those of you in the northwest, Elenbaas feed, manufacturers of Equiscience, is donating a percentage of all their Equibalance sales to Mustang U! This is a low starch, high protein pelleted feed which should be well suited for our mustangs. We'd sure appreciate if you'd give it a try with your horses! www.elenbaasco.com/equine/equiscience/equibalance.htmldealers: www.elenbaasco.com/dealers/index.html

they're looking good I see that Chance did get the freezbrand. What a pretty beginnings of a mane she has, looks almost curly. Yes that does sound good that an eleven year old wild one can trust enough to get that close that quickly.

Cool! That's so wonderful that you could get Liberty, and Chance is going to be a jewel.

Hey Tracey, Is that the same feed we got sent home with us for Snoop?? My horses WILL NOT TOUCH IT... Snoop included. Know anyone who wants ours? Kim

Really, Kim? Mine went right after it. Maybe just because it's something different?
Big steps for Liberty today. She began eating out of my husband's hand this afternoon, then later out of my daughter's hand. Tonight I picked up the end of her lead and actually had her moving a bit, and not just side to side, we actually got forward motion out of her hind feet!

Good job! She looks very relaxed and soft in the eye. I think she likes her new home!

Liberty has the exact same marking on her face as my little Sam....right down to the tiny spash of white in the middle! she is beautiful Tracey. Keep up the good work with her.

Liberty was looking a little run down in the pens, but she's got a really nice hip on her and a good wither. You might just have a really nice horse there Tracey! Hope you are keeping a journal, she would make a nice example of why to adopt an older mare.

Thanks, everyone. Dianne, she's being highlighted on Mustang U so her story will be there for reference. I'm sure they're not all so easy, but I've had young ones who are difficult, so I think it really is case by by case and not so much age. The 'older' gelding that I picked up for TIP is progressing quicker than the 2 year old, too, so there's another case for adopting older.
