Well, it is a a week to the Wild Trails horse Expo here at Brasada Ranch so Fit is getting his beauty treatments and while he was clean, we took some pictures. He will be in the clinic working with Todd Titus under saddle...finally. We'll see if all the ground work we have done pays off. The big sissy was afraid of clippers last week and yet Rick was running the weed eater not 5 feet from him yesterday and he couldn't be bothered. He will be in a covered pen outside the arena and so will my mare, stop by and say "hi" to us if you are there. Rick will be the one with the large video camera and tripod

He is looking good Very handsome and very fit ;D I don't know that I will make it there Saturday as I discovered Wickee does not qualify to show. I may if I get the time drive out and try and get a glimpse of all the goings on. I will be there Sunday with some horses (Wickee included) just to hang out and meet and greet anyone and everyone that will be at the events that day.

Todd was driving him with long reins before he mounted so he added the bridle over the halter. All he had was my word that Fit was pretty calm and had been saddled and worked from the ground numerous times so he took Fit through gait and direction changes before he mounted. At that point Fit was all about "me" ( there were classes and another trainer and round pen in the arena working at the same time) and did not wish to pay close attention to what he was asked to do so Todd was wise. I was proud of Fit for not blinking at ropes in and around his legs and for not bucking. Fits only problem was being distracted but once he focused he was fine for a few minutes and oops something else would distract him. Guess I have done okay so far but I will still have a professional finish him for me before I ride him on the HMA next spring.

The first couple of times my greenies went to events with other horses, they were very distracted too. It sorted out very quickly though and at the last show the other horses were not a problem at all.
Fit looks gorgeous and such a sweet face!

In those pictures it does not seem like there is alot going on around Fit ..but I can say there was and that second horse was only a few strides away in the next round pen being worked by another trainer. I think Fit did rather well with all the excitement with surrounding events and horses about.

It takes a lot of practice to learn to be "at the office" and not mentally somewhere else. I think he looks fantastic.
