We took our 3 year olds (Daunte and Sadona) to the beach today with Dino. It was their first trail ride. Kevin rode each of them while I ponied the other. We rode Daunte at the fairgrounds yesterday, and when we trotted he had such a smooth trot. When I watched Kevin riding him I thought it looked like he was doing a running walk it was so smooth. So I had to get a video of it today. Sorry the video isn't so good, I was holding two horses. (click on picture to view video) They both did awesome on the ride, both led for awhile. This is Sadona and Dino.

I have never ridden on the beach. That's something I wish to do someday. You are so lucky to have riding access right on the ocean. What type of saddle are you using on Sadona? I like the forward pommel/fork, and also where the stirrups are hung on that saddle. Nice! Melissa

Melissa, The saddle is a circle Y equitation saddle.

Circle Y makes awesome saddles. That's what my old one was. I had it for at least twenty years before I sold it. It always hurt my back to put it on and I got worse with time. It was a very comfy saddle once you were in it though. The fellow that bought it won't sell it for anything.

He was from the 2007 adoption. We bid on him, but someone was bidding against us so we dropped out at $250. The lady ended up turning him back before loading. So he ended up on the interent adoption. We got him for $165, plus had him gelded and delivered for FREE! Here is a video of him leading on the trail. Look at that BUTT!!

It seems like they are so good out on the trails, nice way to add to their training. Is that a bosal you are riding him with?

Yes it's a bosal. I am starting them with a bosal now, and trying to learn more about the whole process. Kevin

I'm doing the same thing Kevin. I got some good dvds on how to try and train and such, if you don't have anything like that, I'd be willing to share with you
