I purchased Firefly gosh, years ago (as you all know) and I've never registered her, mostly because there has been so much in fighting and because I never got the bill of sale or anything from the seller (said he was going to send it to me). He doesn't return emails or anything, so I would like to get hold of Denise and see if she can give me the papers I need in order to get Firefly registered. Or, if there is another way I can go about getting her registered. I know that Sundance's DNA is of record somewhere. I would just like to get that completed. Seems most everyone knows who her Dam and Sire are, it just shouldn't be this difficult to get her registered.

It's a common problem and one that needs to be solved if the breed is to thrive.

well we have to make the first move. by no more down talking about anyone. but we also have to get key players to the drawing board, and let them know where we stand as owners of this breed. Let them know we are tired of this issue and if they can not get it together for the breed and owners then they need to step down. and then we need to set by-laws for the running of this breed. Just my opinion and idea on this. Sorta like an HOA. we need to maybe set up like the Paint and AQHA registries are. and vote in those on the board, and move forward, if they do not want to be a part of it then that is their choice.

Firefly, you might try getting ahold of Roger or Denise on Facebook. It seems to me that someone on here posted that they are both on Facebook. Once you have a bill of sale, I would contact the registry that you are interested in to see what their requirements are. Fairly certain that your mare's sire and dam are registered with the KMA and SMKR so can't see where you would have a problem. It is the breeder/seller and purchaser's responsibility to see that correct paperwork is done at the time of the sale. It is not any registry of any breed's responsibility.
You are right Dianne, it is a common problem within the breed.

Got to talk to Denise tonight, Here is what she told me... I will gather all the info I have from the studbook here and send it to you. I will be busy this weekend but will write you up a breeders letter of verification also. That hopefully should be enough to get my girl finally registered.
