wildtrailshorseexpo.blogspot.com/I attended last year with Wickee just as a spectator and enjoyed hanging out and watching the Mustang show. This year they have several other events such as a trail competition and a ACTHA event trail challenge. As this is taking place in my backyard, I think I have got a few of my trail riding friends to join in the trail competition. We ride these trails every week anyway. It is my hope Fantasy will be ready by then, then all of us will riding Mustangs. Anyone else attending this event ?

We are coming with three mustangs! My Kiger mare, Riddle Conchetta, my 16 year old daughter on her Nevada mare Checotah, and my 12 year old daughter with a Sand Springs pinto mare, Dancer. I am so excited! We have entered the ACTHA competitive trail ride, the trail challenge, and the horse show. Looks like it will be a very busy, fun weekend, with lots going on, and lots of nice people. Lil

How exciting...everyone was so busy last year I did not get a chance to meet and greet to many folks. I was trailering other horses for people as well and when they wanted to leave, I had to load up and go. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet more Kiger Mustang people this time, should all go well and I can attend. Fantasy's chiropractor appointment is this Saturday.

We are home from Wild Trails horse Expo. It was a Great weekend. It was much bigger than last year, with 8 mustangs in some classes. We took our EMM horses and Dino. The EMM boys were awesome! We did In-hand trail with them and a just getting started class. We got to see lots of old friends and meet lots of new ones, Like Tiffany!!! the whole weekend was a great display of the mustangs. Dino got to show off in a freestyle while the crowd was waiting for the concert to start.

I had a great time at the WTHE. I did get to meet both Kevin and Lisa along with their great horses and my friend Debi. I really enjoyed the Mustang show. I spent the weekend with a friend of mine, Denise, who owns a Yakima Mustang and we did the trail challenge. She also bid on a lovely TIP Mustung she fell in love with but sadly lost out. Yet she is keeping in touch with the trainer and will possibly go take a look at the TIP horses dam, an EMM horse. I did take a few photos..Denise's trailer with my mare Morgan mare Mystie on the left and her Mustang Maverick on the right everyone agreed we have never seen a mail box this high, it frightened several horses that normaly do not have an issue with the mailbox obsticle (Denise on Maverick) Denise was so pleased that Maverick went thru the man made water obsticle so well, those trail riding trips to the pond paid off

Okay, I guess Lil is not going to brag, so I'll have to brag for her! Lil's 16 year old daughter Grace won the Trail Challenge Trilogy with the highest combined score of all 3 trail challenges. Grace was riding her mare Checotah, from the Nevada wild horse range. I was so happy for and proud of Grace! Jamie Thomas came in reserve on her 2008 EMM horse Monty. Vonni Halvorson brought in the performer for Saturday nights concert in style with her Nevada mustang gelding Smokey pulling a restored 1908 doctors buggy, and Vonni also gave a presentation on carriage driving on Sunday. I did get some pics of Vonni and Smokey and Jamie on Monty in the warm up arena. It was fun to see old friends and meet new ones!

Ok, Kim, I am finally here. I have just been exhausted! Yes, we had a FABULOUS time! My two younger daughters and I did the ACTHA competetive trail ride on Friday. It was our first one, and we enjoyed it very much. The only thing that gave me any trouble was my horse thinking the judges were the scary obstacle! She didn't think they looked like they belonged out there in the bushes, with lawn chairs, sun umbrellas, and clip boards! My 16 year old, Grace, won the youth divisiopn, and Rachel who is 12 came in 4th. I was lower middle of the pack in the scores for the pleasure division, but figured the girls could enjoy a chance to gloat at beating mom :-) Here we are after the ride. Saturday Grace and I both did the Trail Challenge course; 10 acres, 14 obstacles, some perched on the side of a rocky bluff. This was also something we have never done before. I was SO proud of my mare. After 12 years in the wild, and 7 with me, she is still cautious about anything man made. We had to go up a dirt ramp, lined with huge tracter tires, and jump off the ledge at the end. She was very concerned about those tires as they closed in on either side, but she crept on through and just stepped off the end. All of the natural stuff, brush, logs, rocky paths, etc, she was great with. Again, I finished middle of the pack, but Grace won the youth division. Here I am on Conchetta after our trail challenge course Also on Saturday was a mustang horse show, and Conchetta was not relaxed enough to do well at all in the busy indoor arena, but Grace did pretty well. There was an arena trail class that was the third leg of the mustang trailogy. We knew that Grace would win the youth division of the Trailogy, when she had won two of the three legs. But when we found out the youth were lumped in with all the adults, we were astonished when she won! It was a great weekend, with lots of mustangs and few Kigers. I thought my old girl represented the breed well!

How great it is to know, your daughter won the youth division that is fabulous. You all look so great in your pictures. I think Conchetta did represent the Kiger Mustang mare very well. I over heard several comments when you would ride by. I think next year those of us from the board need to make time during the festivities to get together one of the evenings, so we all get a chance to meet. Maybe go on our own little trail ride.
