I posted these under the old grey stallion thread but I thought I'd start this fresh and post them. These are what's called 'scratchboard' or 'scraperboard'. It's a white board covered with a thin coat of china clay and then covered with india ink. You scratch through the black ink and china clay down to the white board to get each stroke in the picture.

Funny thing about Firefly, what drew me to her immediately was her eye. Just in the pictures there seemed to be so much curiosity and intelligence in her eye. Her eyes did not lie, she is very very curious about things and she is extremely intelligent.

Thanks, I'm glad you all enjoyed them. I'm currently on the lookout for Kiger head study that catches my attention to do a scratchboard of. This summer I will be taking many pictures of Firefly and if anyone else has a clear close head study they'd like to send me, please do
