There appears to be a dorsel...so I would hazard a guess that it will shed out a really dark sooty dun. I don't think it will be grulla like mom but have a lot of dark tones to it's coat.
Hey you going to be at the Longview adoption? with a trailer?? I'm going to be there and looking for a new wild child but may need a lift back to Carnation (if I find that special one that calls to me). I've been shopping for a trailer but no luck yet.

Well, as a matter of fact...yes I will be there, and with a trailer! Fancy that. Have you got a particular wild child in mind that you've been eying somewhere? Or just have the bug?

I've been eying several off the Burns site and called and talked to Patti...hopefully some of them will be on the trailer up here. Mostly yearling fillies..a dun a bay and 2 sorrels...all Coyote Lakes horses. They are all already almost as tall (and 1 is) as Lyric was at 2!!! I think having another wild child to gentle down from scratch will take away some of the empty Lyric left behind. Can't say which ones or someone else might snatch them up LOL
Actually I won't get in a bidding war...if someone else bids on one I REALLY want (if she's on the trailer) I'll pick another so 2 get homes...or 3 or 4 or 5 LOL. That way I get one that NEEDS a home.

Silly girl, if there's one you want, adopt it now and have them haul it up! Don't fuss with the competitive bid. They'll be happy to process it for you in advance.

Of course, there are the yearlings who'll be available at the YAY show on July 25 as well! We've got two fillies here, but neither will be very tall.

What a great idea! Kigercat go get em! I didn't know they would haul, but if they are bringing horses to the adoption that makes sense. I think the foal will look dark brown or black, but it could have a dorsal. Most Kigers that are dark grulla are born the color of the dam, then shed out dark as a weanling.

But but but...there's like 12 I "like". I gave some of the numbers and I think 4 of them will be coming this way. I would like to see them and get a feel for their personality...interest in the surroundings and people etc. I just know the one I really really like everyone will want...but there are like 5 close 2nds LOL I'm like a kid in a candy shop and am trying to keep my resolve to 1...but 2 is VERY tempting!!! And if ones I liked come here and find homes well then that's all good...moret homes and I'll pick another off the list....or try desperatley to con Kim into a road trip to Burns and find one LOL That just right filly is out there somewhere =)

Interesting you should say that Dianne..... most of my grulla foals have been out of red dun mares, yet not one of them was born red dun..... they have all been born dun and shed out grulla.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I meant to say the dark grullas have been the same color as the dam in the picture when born. My foals that shed out regular grulla have been born either dun looking or almost white. Kigercat, there were a couple of real cuties in the pictures of the horses at Burns. A road trip would be such fun!

Chris, you reminded me of a T-shirt I saw (which I should have purchased) which said
I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER HORSE I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER HORSE I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER HORSE I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER HORSE
Made me laugh, Lil

But I WANT anther horse!!!! =) Patti left a message at my house..my Fav off the site (unless she gets adopted by walk up between now and Longview) is coming to Longview...Don't no body make me hurt you by bidding on her =) And my 2 2nd choices are both headed to the Joseph adoption this weekend so see what happens about that...but 3 others I had earmarked will also be coming to Longview...so I think I'll manage somehow to find at lease one!
Oh and I have a t-shirt that says (this is written upside down) If you can read this, please put me back on my horse.

Ok Chris and Tracey:
Let us know how the Longview adoption goes.....Chris, I bet you are right...Maybe pouring yourself into starting a wild one will help soothe the place Lyric left.....May you get your first choice!

If it isn't gray as stated, then it is a blue roan. The face does not look darker as it is typically in roans and it looks as though it may be graying over the eyes, and that odd white line across it's face above the nose. The tail and mane may catch up.....? Linda D
