I don't know why they need the bull--Cat will do all of that with a WalMart sack. Okay, so maybe I wouldn't be able to pet a WalMart sack from her back... LOL. While watching that (and trying to block out the bull), I was reminded of how many Western riding enthusiasts (at least in my area of OK) simply cannot appreciate anything that isn't a spin or sliding stop. In other news--In a few weeks I'm taking Lazzy and Rain to a Cow Sorting clinic--I can't wait!! I'll have to try some of these moves--ha ha!

You're right no need for the bulll...this morning Gringo was chasing and cutting two big white cow birds in the pasture. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Spins, cutbacks and run downs! They would not leave and just stayed right out of his reach - too funny!

That had to be extremely entertaining! And yes, I've seen some horses doing some of those moves in sheer panic. I am reminded of an arabian horse (who's owner went out on a two hour trail ride dressed in tights and leotards (sp), when her horse passed by the first texas longhorn he had ever seen, he reared and spun around quite fast, with her orbitting around him like one of Saturn's moons. Of course almost all the men on the ride came to her rescue. As for my two horses, they figured if they tippy-toes real quietly by, the steer wouldn't realize they were there. All of the horses except for the spinner did pretty well on the trail ride. It was a well publicized ride honouring the mayor of the city.
