My tough chicken

The first picture is of Paris, she's named after Paris Hilton because she believes herself to be the queen of the coop and she lets everyone know it. She's being touch chickie for the camera.

The second picture is of a portion of the flock of twelve. The center, buff colored chicken is Buffy the vampire slayer, she's Paris' best friend. They were both rescue chickens. The fellow that owned them didn't feed them, made them fend for themselves.

Paris had a big hard knot of something in her crop when I got her, I was afraid she might not make it, but she got rid of the hard knot and now her crop is soft, like it should be.

They're definitely fun, entertaining creatures!

They are all such good looking gals...they look as if they dont have a big bad boy pulling all their feathers out...my poor girl get reall roughed up by the rooster.

No roosters, only twelve hens. They're very well spoiled, getting all sorts of fruit and breads and of course they forage the property. We have a LOT of earwigs here and Paris knows I will catch them and give them to her in a little plastic red cup, so when she sees the cup, she's pretty sure she'd going to get some tasty bugs. They each lay about an egg a day so we have plenty of eggs. The two chickens mentioned are mine and the others belong to our landlord, but I take care of all of them and they're pretty sure that I'm just a funny looking great big momma hen.
