That is usually when they foal when you give up and just go to bed....LOL But alas you got a good nights and sleep and I see no filly announcement. Can you give her a squeeze..would that help...LOL ;D

I can picture her out there now, her arms wrapped around Contora's belly, squeezing and pushing towards the tail!

Okay....Contora came in from the pasture tonight dripping thick white milk all over her legs! This may be it - hopefully we will have a new foal on the ground in the morning and she does not do this for a few days!! She is usually quiet in the stocks while we check milk, clean her up and wrap her tail. Tonight she was not happy at all! Snaking her neck and pawing trying to dig up the matt - she wanted back to that stall! So, quick dinner and back to the barn; Lynn is eating her dinner down there in front of the camera now, keeping watch...

Filly born 3:45 am. Everything went really well, Contora seems to be a good momma so far! Filly is fiesty and determined - but what else can you expect from Charro and a Paso Fino?!?!
I belive she is a dun, most likely with the sooty gene - I think I remmeber shoulder bars and a dark face mask. Will get a better look at her and picts in the light this morning after feeding.

Still wet, looked like a dun... However, in the light of day we discover a red dun! Figures, all that attitude PLUS a red head! She is doing well this morning, comes over for scratches and gives her momma lots of grief! Here she is, five hours old - look at those angles! She moves around really fancy, picking those legs way up in the air. Eric does not think she is gaited, but moves more like a Troche-Gallope (trot gallop with big movement). Okay...off for a nice nap! Hopefully we'll be able to get a good five nights of sleep before Sycha goes - good thing is, she has always foaled before midnight.

Nail test..was CORRECT ;D a filly for Contora. Congratulations!! I do hope she does prove to be gaited. I can see the pictures and she has a darling girlie face, I really like her profile and big soft eyes. But she looks nice and compact like a Paso Fino foal. Paso Fino's remind of little compact sports cars when you see them at shows , alot of horse in a little package.

Congratulations! Great photos! & what a nice mix...Paso Fino and Kiger. I'll be real interested in watching her develop. Red dun is my favorite dun color too.

Congrats Michelle! Can't wait to see her all fluffed out. What IS it about red heads? She looks really sweet as well as spunky.
