Yep' I listened to all the snow storm warnimgs last night we have friends that live over on the gorge and they were supposed to get 12" today. I was curious what region you were in how many inches you would get. We got 3 inches and now it is freezing rain I was hoping for some sun and a chance for a Sunday snow trail ride, but not so lucky. I am keeping warm by the wood stove instead. The snow does make for some great winter wonderland horse pics thanks for sharing

We got 10 inches of snow on Friday on top of what was on the ground. Right now it is 10 degrees and blowing. My little donkey had icecicles hanging from his wooly forehead and under his eyes. His ears were coated with snow. He looked misrable even in his turnout blanket. They all can go into the stable anytime they want. Welcome to the first day of winter. It has been winter here in Michigan for 6 weeks. UGH! Linda D

I think most of us are in the same boat, Kevin, so not to worry! What I learned last year is that it doesn't matter if you're the first on your horse or not. I was really worried about being so late getting on Sandy, but he would have done fine (he was lame while there.) Princess is laid back enough for you not to worry about missing a few days Love that second shot, and the mini is adorable!

We just got out of a week's worth of 60 and 70 degree temps, now its in the teens!! I want the warm weather back

We're ready for the rain to come back I can tell you. Trouble with hilly country and normally mild winters is that there aren't enough snow plows to keep the side roads up. Freeways are pretty good but getting down our big hill is a good way to wet your pants - there's an inch of ice on it. We're just thankful that we have power.

Ditto the being thankful for power, Dianne!! But my water is frozen in the barn so I'm hauling buckets twice a day! Thanks goodness that windstorm they were predicting never materialized! ( knock on wood! )

I'm not a fan of snow plows, personally. I think they make the roads slicker than snot on a door knob ;D I much prefer to have the snow compact down on it's own...I feel there's more traction.
Then again...what do I know? I've been sitting at home for a week now!

You and me both desperatehorsewife... ;D I have been home all week and now I have to venture out. The last of the Christmas presents will not buy themselves. Still I am waiting for the hubby to return from snowplowing, to do the driving, it is all together to much on my nerves to avoid the crazy drivers.

Oh what beautiful winter wonderland pictures... as I sit here drinking my coffee and it is a balmy 86 degrees outside already. How about sending some of the white stuff down here? Leesa

A picture of Chinook from our snowfall yesterday, this is the fuzziest I've ever seen him. We had another six inches this morning....maybe he knew something we didn't.

Oh I think all the horses knew something ahead of time, mine have great winter coats and Chinook is looking very handsome with his winter back ground and blanket on

Diane, that is a neat picture of Chinook! He looks good in that color purple. Did he get a new blanket for Christmas? The snow falling in front of him almost looks purple. Lisa
