I know of at least a dozen or more people who own kigers and dont know if they even know of this board or if they just dont want to join. My neighbor adopted a real pretty light dun mare from the 2007 kiger adoption. Most of the people i know are pretty new to the horse world and i think for most of them the kigers are their first horses. most just do trail riding/ backyard pals. maybe i should post the site at the barn?

That is a good idea dara..as we would love to hear news and stories of how the new owners are doing with the newly adopted.

I would love to at least know their auction numbers. I took a lot of photos while there and would love to match them up.

I got this e-mail today. Hello, my name is Richard Walling, I adopted a 7 year Kiger Stallion in 2004. He is gentled but not ridden. Due to the high cost of living I am force to sell him. I hope that maybe you could help me in finding Kody (Kiger Stallion) a proper home. I am asking $750 O.B.O. , my first priority is to find him a home where he will be well cared for, so I am negotionable on the price. I will add a few pictures. Thank You for your time. Sincerely Richard Walling I think we will see a lot of Kigers being given away, as people just can't afford to feed them! I would buy this guy if I didn't already have 12 horses!

Yeah, I understand where Mr. Wallings is at, a lot folks are there. I know I need more then ever to win the lottery. I would really love to have more property and the first ever Kiger rescue but hec' I need to rescue myself first.

Yep, it's a sad situation for a lot of folks. Many are living month to month on their paychecks anyway let alone the rise in fuel sucks up anything that may have been left over. I heard a lot of people are putting their gas on credit cards and hoping for a miracle. Scary situation, I'm definitely blessed with the land / pastures that I have. I am always thankful for them though the winter months require a lot of hay.
