I asked my vet about BOSS a few months ago and was told it was high in fiber, should increase shine and add fat. He said they use them them in cattle feed all the time in the midwest and thought it was a great supplement.
Someone insisted to me that I'd find all sorts of sunflowers growing if I fed it because it's indigestible, but I've only found one with all the seeds/horses that have gotten it, so I guess that's one myth busted!
