I found her on dream horse over in Burns, OR. I went to go see her at the end of May in 05 and fell in love with her. But my fiance' told me to check out a few other horses first, not to pick the first one I saw. I went home broken hearted. Everyday I checked dreamhorse to see if she was still there. Sometimes my heart would sink if I couldn't find the ad but as soon as I saw it I'd be all happy again. The first week of July came and I decided one way or another I was going to get a horse and didn't care at that time what it was ( I was planning). So I found an ad for an old Morgan horse and took my fiance' to go see it. Afterwards I told the ppl I'd let them know and thanked them for their time. On the way home, my fiance' asked me if that is what I wanted. I told him at this point I didn't care and he said, call the ppl with the Kiger mare. Silently to myself I said YESSSSSSSS!!!! my plan worked. I called them up and asked them if they still had her, they said yes and I said, I'll be there next weekend. She's been an awesome horse for me. I've learned alot from her and she in return has learned to trust. Her sire is El Duc. Someday I'll have to get ahold of Gerald and go see him. He doesn't live that far from me. Her mom's name is Chi Chi Bonita. She's a mustang from Oregon but I can't find any info on her. Its funny how SonRisa lived over in my area before she moved to Burns and now she's back here again. I noticed that on her registration papers. We mainly do trail riding and endurance, although I took last year off from endurance because of work and gas prices. Even though gas prices don't look like they will be dropping, I plan on competing in endurance again this year. My goal is to try and have her ready for Grizzly Mountain in April. We'll see. I have also gamed on her some for fun and may do that again at a local event in Canby this next fall. I was really suprised that she was calm with the kites at the beach, but get her near what we call the killer foam from the waves its another story. Once we get her past that, she loves to play in the ocean. I really love this breed, the way the look, the way they move and their personality. I'd love to get another one someday but my fiance' has put the halt to anymore horses until we get our own acreage. We have Sonrisa, another mustang out of a California HMA, a QH and a mini.

she is a pretty thing and calm cool and collected, which I love also about my Kiger. Sounds like you have a herd there. Me too. I have a pregnant registered paint, BLM Mustang, QT/TB gelding cross, and a Kiger mare, and a Kiger stallion. i understand the land bit, all of ours are stabled till we can get our 9 acres ready for them and for us. Welcome to the board, and Kiger ownership. nola

here's a pic of my mare and our mini on the beach last weekend. This was the first time my mare ponied anything. She was so good about knowing right where Hershey was. Hershey had to trot most of the time to keep up with my mare walking. Then he decided lets canter and he wanted to be in the lead.

WOW! What a cute pic on the beach! Gotta love that spunk the mini's have....Hershey looks like he's flying! And you and SonRisa look great! I'm SO SO envious; riding in February...Here we had frozen ground we could ride on but now it's nothing but a mud BOG....At least we're warming up!

SonRisa loves the beach. This is the 3rd year we've done this and it only rained at night. Sun was out most of the time the 3 days we were there. The first day we walked right into the water with no problem. She dropped her head and flicked the water with her mouth. I was so suprised cause it usually takes some coaxing to get her in. We had a blast. Took 4 full size horses and little Hershey. Our neighbors at the campsite had a great dane that Hershey thought was a mini at first. He whinned and tried to run to him. The Dane was 4 inches taller then Hershey. I wish I had gotten a pic of that LOL
