Ok so Dollie has been at the trainers for a week. The assessment I got of her was that she was crap :\ I told him not to sugar coat anything for me so he didn't. With his assessment it kind of proved my thoughts that she doesn't know half of what I thought she did. She can walk, trot and canter forward and that is about it. I wish I could say that I was offended by what he said but sadly I had already thought it. So she is in training for about 60 days to see where we are at the point. I will reevaluate her on the tenth and have another eye look at her to see if she is improving or not. That just means more time with the "little" boy.

Well, this is a good chance to move forward with her for sure. Keep us updated!

I am hoping she does well and learns quickly. The trainer she is with is a reinner so he really wanted to get her to spin and do all sorts of fancy stuff. I told him to get the basics down first then move on, but that was before he realized how bad she was. He didn't quite understand that the kigers have a higher head set and Dollie follows that to a 'T'. The last thing I want is to get her back and her head is down to her knees.

So, are you going to watch the training? Maybe drop in and see how it's going after a couple of weeks or so?

She is three hours away so sadly most of my visits will be scheduled. My first visit will be march 10 weekend and I will probably watch him work her and then get on myself and see how different she feels in my hand. Luckily if I feel like she needs a sneak peak my mom lives about 30 min away so she or my sister can go by for me.

I had a real bad experience with a trainer when I was getting started. Not many I trust with my horses anymore. I'm sure your trainer is better.

I trust no one when it comes to my horses, especially Dollie. It was so had to leave her there but she is in good hands. This guy would rather shoot his nuts off then hurt a horse. He doesn't know much about kigers but he seems to be doing an okay job so far. He is more into the qtrs but will do everything he can for any horse. Dollie is such a special kind of special that I know any trainer would have a handful with her. If I don't see the improvement that I a looking for next weekend then she will come home and I will try to find another trainer that knows the breed better, which in my area is just about none. So far the updates I have is that she is starting to give her shoulder and hold it in place and not drop it. She had her teeth floated on Sunday to see if that would help any so I am looking for another update tonight.

oh Dollie she sounds so much like my Fantasy..she is a strong woman, with strong opinions on what she will or will not do. Fantasy however was well trained better then me once apon a time, I just did't have the skills to make her do everything she once knew how to do. Here we are several years later making it work. At least I have her over the arena sourness and we are enjoying the trail rides more often.

I will say that is one thing I loved about Dollie. As long as the arena was large i could do whatever in it and she was fine. We are both going to school now. I will begin lessons hopefully next week or so to fine tune what I know and teach me what I dont. The good news is that we are both in school to improve ourselves.

So the update I got is that she did really well today in her training and she is coming along well. That is all I got, not a very chatty trainer, he is kinda unnerved by me and my friend who connected us. I will see her this weekend and will hopefully get a video of her
