The stallion could have something to do with the geldings disposition, but it could also have been some change in the way the foal was handled or the situation in which he was raised. The Thoroughbred mare we had was not a very nice mare and was not a good mom at all....I was very careful not to put her in a situation that would upset her and went out of my way to be sweet and gentle with the filly. The filly, Bella Rosa, turned out to just be fabulous with a very kind temperment.
You just never know what genes will come together either!
Sage is a tough alpha mare which she exerts mostly at feeding time. When she has a foal, I feed her alone and not with a group. Last year I made the mistake of just once leaving her out with the herd. The filly saw this behavior and when I weaned her with the other foals, at feeding time she promptly went to kicking at everyone. I went in and straightened her out and she has never done it again. Won't make that mistake again!

Truthsayer's Sun (standing in Michigan) has a wonderful disposition. He is gentle and affectionate; likes people; lives with a mare and their son (5 mos. old) full-time. He is easy to work with, very cooperative, learns fast and is very athletic. He is a 5 yr. old Kiger mustang out of Kiger Sun (sire) and Kiger MT Truthsayer (dam). The colt seems to have inherited his disposition. Pictures of them are on Facebook; see The Kiger Mustang Company.

I'd like to post pictures of Truthsayer's Sun and his colt from time-to-time, but haven't been able to find anything to tell me how to do it. Can anybody clue me in?

One of these methods should work for getting pictures posted here, as I would love to see them. You can post pictures from your facebook here in quick reply if you right click on the full size picture, then click on properties, copy and paste the complete address(URL) between these two brackets with no spaces [/IMG] or if you have your pictures loaded onto a carrier such as photobucket you can copy and paste the IMG code directly the post. You can also click on reply in the forum rather then using quick reply. Right above the mad smiley is a box with a picture in it, click that and the brackets will appear copy and paste the complete address(URL) or direct link inbetween with no spaces.

Just like fantasy said, if you have it on facebook, you can right click it with your mouse and then several options pop up. You want to select "Copy image URL" by normally clicking it. It will automatically copy it even though nothing appears to happen. Then in your post reply message on here, you want to make sure to click on wherever you want to put it in this text box and then press "ctrl" and "v" at the same time. This is the "paste" shortcut when you want to copy and paste something. Once you do that, you will need this in the front of that URL with no spacing "[ IMG ]"and then "" directly after it (again no spaces between brackets). If your ever not sure if you did it correctly and want to see what it looks like, click on the preview option next the the post reply. It will display it exactly how it will look and then below the preview part is this same text box. If you see something wrong in the preview, you have to go below it in the text box to fix it.

I'll never forget when I first met Kiger Diamond Rio. I walked up to the pasture fence and he came blasting up from across the field. Just as he got close he spun around so his hind quarters where just inches from the fence. I jumped back thinking he was about to kick me, or come through the fence! I think my heart was in my throat at that moment. Then Brian walked over and started scratching Rio's rump without skipping a beat in the conversation. Apparently Mr. Rio really likes having his hind quarters scratched lol For the remainder of our visit he hung out and let us rub, scratch and pet him.

Thank you, Sarah, for posting those many pictures of Truthsayer's Sun. You and beauba have made this picture posting very easy for me! Now, as soon as I get more pictures selected, I will try posting them myself, following the directions Sarah and/or Fantasykiger have given me.
