In pen 1 the black stud stood out for more reasons than one.... if there was a scuffle, he was either insitigating it, or in the middle of it. I liked his looks, but not the way he acted. He was a bully.

1147 seemed pretty easy going. He was pretty noticeable because of his funky mane. We were calling him Hollywood. I think it was 1234 that rarely left the corner of the pen. (can anyone else verify that?) I wondered if he had some issues because he didn't want to move much. But when he did move, he moved fine. I thought he looked older. When Kevin had Dino out, 1234 really noticed him and ran across the coral whinnying at him. That was the first time I had seen him on that side and the first time I saw him move. The other horses weren't as excited about Dino.
It was interesting to see the dynamics of the horses together like that.

the 2 yr is actually a colt (was interested in this one but wanted a female). It was listed in the updates at the adoption. I'm surprised they haven't changed it yet on the web page. I think I have a pic or 2 of him and also the Red Dun Mare with the foal. The 2 yr was a middle of the pack kind of guy...he didn't really initiate any scuffles, but he didn't back down if someone tried to push him around. Pretty nice looking guy. The mare with the foal was ok, not outstanding but not horribly put together...she seemed to be the most skittery of all the mares in the mare and foal pen as in when people were around she would go to the furthest point and just stand at attention watching. She might have been the least dominate of the 4 mares in that pen so that might have had something to do with it. The 5 yr mare with the brand new grulla colt seemed to rule the roost. I have to run but will look for pictures later and post what I have. I think the reason they were both passed over is the strange aversion to red dun LOL I got the yearling filly for 125...a STEAL in my opinion =)

dunno why people don't gravitate to the reds more...grulla seems to be the color everyone wants then dun. probably just like people prefer black and bay over sorrel?

lol that is funny beacuse the first horse i look at in the pen in the reds, lol. I was so happy to see the stripes come ion of frodo, my colt, because that made him not a bay... any excuse not to have a bay, lol... but i have another kiger who is a bay so they just are not avoidable and she is so sweet.
Does anyone know of anyone that is going to bid on 1212? I really like her and am still trying to convince my husband to let me have her but i cant have her filly as well. two is my max and mam would make 3 and filly 4 so i coundnt do that.

there seems to be a lot of interest from the Easter side of the state from folks that didn't make the adoption (per comments made by Patty from the BLM office on the facebook page) I think there is someone back east that is interested in the mare/foal pair.

I love the red duns, especially those with really distinct striping. The red duns this go around didn't have the conformation I look for. Still it was good see some reds, in 2007 there was maybe one.

i know there was something about three strikes. Like if they were passed over at three different adoptions then something happened. I didnt know if this would be strike two.

At "three strikes" the horses become sale authority, which means that they are sold outright as opposed to being adopted. I doubt however that the Kigers will end up being sale authority.

Anyone know if mare 1203 had a foal with her? I wish they had more pictures of the horses on here (even though they do have a bunch) It also says that the yearling colt #1136 wasn't offered due to an injured leg. Did anyone see him in person or does anyone know what the injury was? I hate that people try to get only young kigers with no white and only ones that are grulla or dun because it makes it hard to decide if that is why the remaining ones didn't get adopted or if they were poor conformation/ bad tempered.
