Not to be outdone by Momma....Chilli proceeded to foal exactly 12 hours later in the middle of the afternoon - 10 minutes before the start of the Open House! Her colt is 3 weeks early. Everything seems fine, though his legs need time to adjust to life outside! He is half Lusitano and seems as if he will be a big boy. Hard to tell much about him, as he sleeps alot because he is so early.

Awesome Michelle, I am glad everything is ok with both of them. I love that picture of mom licking him. They almost have the same blaze! So cool!
We are expecting one to come tonight! It is the mares first foal and she is really big. So we are a little nervous.

Check out those long legs and what a pretty boy. I guess your right Chilli was not about to be outdone by Momma' she got right in there and joined in...LOL ;D silly girl. Is this colt one of yours or the previous owner of Chille's? Oh I wanted to ask as well, what color was the sire for you to get what appears to be a buckskin colt from your redhaired gal Chilli?

Michelle, Congratulations on both your new little ones. They are both stunning foals. The colt looks grullo! He is very handsome. What do you think? Kim

Thanks Kim! He is a sooty buckskin...both Chilli and Luke have the sooty gene. He has wonderful sooty markings, even a counter shaded stripe - so he looks like the rest of our crowd here!
I know he carries the creme gene because his skin is pinkish - I will see if I can get a pict that shows it. That is a dead give-away on a dark horse that they carry a creme. They also have violet colored eyes as opposed to blue, though they do darken as they get older.

One telltale sign of creme is amber eyes in older horses. At any rate he is gorgeous.

Ooooh, nice dad and wonderful colt. Can we have more pictures of him all fluffed out? Is this the first time you've used this stallion? I like him a lot. Have to go look at more pictures of him.

Here are some updated pics of Nitro (Bayo Nitroso). Everyone seems to really like him, I think it must be his color! He is a nice colt and all, but gosh, he is sure not like those foals that have Kiger in them! Very different!! Remember when you see the bottom pict...he and Dory are only 12 hours apart - she is alot of filly!
