Soooo, Michelle and I have been working on a plan together. Rio is going down to her this fall in exchange for Donza who is bred to Charro! We're both tickled with this arrangement. I don't have the need for two stallions and will be keeping Blue. Rio is Charro's grandson and we're hoping that he will work out to be as good as Charro at producing awesome foals. Since Rio was going I offered Michelle Teanna as well. I've always thought she and Charro would produce the most incredible foals. As we've seen from Rio, the cross of these two lines can be pretty spectacular. Teanna has her dam's old genes from 1982 and I want to be sure that those get spread around a lot in her foals. Pretty cool, huh?

WOW yay I can't wait to see him down at Rancho Bayo. I always thought Rio was a total throwback to Charro. He'll definately be showered with attention from the girls, both human and horse LOL. Which mare is Teanna, any pics?

Yea!!! I am so excited about this merger of the two bloodlines! I have always admired Diannes' program and have been waiting for the right time to get ahold of Chinooks babies - can't believe I now have two! Charro and Teanna are going to produce some awesome foals together; can't imagine having to wait now to breed her next year and then have that foal on the ground in 2013 - way to long to wait! I am also so thrilled with having Rio. It really takes the pressure off of me to get just the right colt from Charro as he gets older. We are so hoping he will fill his grandaddys' shoes along with throwing in the great combo of Chinook. Expect some cool stuff in the way of training coming with Rio...!!! Donza is very happy being barefoot and pregnant! I think she'll like the cooler weather also - she gets a thick fuzzy coat in the winter and has a lot more spunk to her. I am happy she gets to be bred to Charro and this should be one awesome foal; between Charro, Leza and Lui (Donzas' sire) it can't be anything but awesome! Donza yesterday - melting in 108 degrees... She's always taken the best front on shots...even with a layer of dust on her nose! Donza last year, working for a living. Great on any obstacle and loves trail...: Thank you Dianne!

Teanna is such a gorgeous mare, i love her conformation! It's great that their is coporation among breeders to swap bloodlines. Chinook always reminded me of a Veiga Lusitano, any thoughts on crossing Rio with a lusitano cross mare? Donza looks like she was absolutely born to be a good mommy, I can't wait for her Charro foal to come. I guess when you think about it the baby will be pure foundation bred. By the way i'm crossing my fingers that the heat dies down some, even the spanish horses are having a hard time with it!

Hoping to see nice Kigers from this collaboration. Breeders working together rather than apart is much need for the procurement of the Kiger breed. Karen

Yeah, I was so surprised Michelle was going to sell Donza, remember? But it worked out just right. I have some frozen semen of Chinooks and will use it next year for Donza. And knowing Michelle, she probably has the next three years planned for Rio's breedings.

It was a hard decision to sell Donza...breeders don't like to part with horses like that but you can't keep them all! I am so glad it worked out this way also - I still get to see that Charro/Donza foal. Yes, Rio will be a busy boy! It's a good thing I have enough mares to go around for all the boys!

What kind of breeding plans do you have next year for your horses? Any potential new Gringo combinations?
