Dianne, good idea. Let's start a thread on what people need to do to get there horse's ready to show. Ive never shown at all, and since we have some great people on here that have a lot of show experience, maybe they can help us newbies out.

me either angel, but I really would love to learn what I need to do to get ready to show lets say Stallions in a senior halter class, seen a few shows and like Michelle said parts were pretty boring. But one area I truly loves was the children area where everyone got a ribbon, and the kids were led in by an adult, it was so cute seeing those little ones barely big enough to be in the saddle, and all dressed up and wearing cowboy hats, or riding helmets. Also what is the dress code for such an event?

I think I'm on the wrong end of the country to be a Kiger fan! If there was a show near me I'd be there in a heartbeat. Right now it would just be halter classes for my little boy, but in the future I plan on showing him!

Amanda:
You could register and show at ABRA and IBHA (buckskin registries) shows I believe.....or just go to some fun shows and get him "out and about".....
I'm planning on ponying my little guy around this spring, and hopefully taking him to the local saddle club for the halter, lunge line, and in-hand trail classes...
When does your boy arrive? And where are you picking him up at? I'm so excited for you!

Oh, I'm planning on all kinds of fun shows. There's tons in my area. I'm going for buckskin registries and the Spanish Mustang registry for sure.... just not sure which Kiger registry yet. I'm picking him up 3 weeks from today! I can't wait, lol. I'm volunteering on Friday and Saturday, and we load up Sun morning to drive home. I'm picking up in Lexington, VA.

I had a lady approach me the other day and said I should compete Mav in endurance. Im sure he'd be good at it, but I dont know if my butt could handle 50-100 miles per ride
