He is growing into a beautiful stallion! I know what you mean about trying to get good pictures. I have a 19 month old filly that is white. She is a deeply foundation bred few spot appaloosa. She has really filled out since spring and I would love to get some good pictures of her. It seems (other than eating) that her favorite pass time is rolling in the dirt.

Gringo is half Lusitano, half mustang; a quarter being Kiger from Charro. He's already 16'2 at three and a half years old. His sire is only 15'3, so I'm not sure where the HUGE gene comes from! I am very found of him, though I could do without that color...he's also my favorite body style - long legged, short bodied and upright frontend.

Wow, he is really coming into his own! I've never been a fan of white horses, but I think he has changed my mind about that lol. I love his body type and smooth, clean lines. He looks like he is really coming along nicely. How is he to work with?

Nice looking boy! The barrels and tarp crossing look like a fun obstacle.

Wow he's definately got Charros conformation. He's such a beautiful and sweet stallion. I always love to say hi to him whenever i'm there. He might be getting to tall for me to halter though Mrs. Michelle LOL.

I have enjoyed watching Gringo grow up. I have always thought that his sire certainly gave a very good dose of Lusitano blood to him as you can really see it in his conformation! Looking forward to seeing what this lovely boy can produce!

He's really looking great Michelle. Very nice boy! He's really matured this last year. I especially love his neck and the length and angle of his forearm. It will be fun to see his foals, should have some super conformation and interesting colors. I like his color! Glad I don't have it here with all the mud though.

Thanks for all the nice comments...Gringo has been pretty easy to deal with. He definately has the Luso stallion temperment though; sweet, though possessive of me; super aware and brazenly bold. He is a lot more sensitive than I expected him to be. It is an interesting process of bringing him along. Most things he accepts readily, a few he is extreme about - such as the girth and back cinch. It's been quite a journey getting him past the over sensitivity and we're just about there. I need to get him going under saddle in the next few months before breeding season - hard to get young studs minds in the game during that time!
He's also very quick at times which takes me by surprise, being as he is generally pretty steady. The really good thing is he never tries to muscle me. He's always light on the halter and never tries to drag me around or lock his neck. Our other young stallion, Desi, that I wound up gelding and selling, was really bad about that and that made him difficult to deal with, especially under saddle. Interestingly, Desi was like that from the time he was born and even though we addressed it every time it came up, he still tested us and tried it when he had enough.
Gringo, on the other hand, was easy to halter break and deal with from day one. Can't wait for his first foals!

While white horses are low on my favorites list, blue eyes even lower, I really like this horse! Beautiful conformation, and he is lovely in this unique color. Gringo proves the saying, a good horse is never a bad color! He is a head turner for sure, and a beautiful color. My mailcarrier has a cremello or perhaps perlino QH mare that she says is well bred who begs me to let her mare be bred to Bolero. She said, "just name your price".
