She is beautiful! If she had a black tail and dorsal she could be a "claybank" with those lovely face markings. Just ccan't get away from that Kiger influence even in your dog. She just looks like a wonderful dog and helper! LindaD A donkey makes a great guard for herd animals too.

she is so cute I have always wanted Pyrenees. Since it is the closet to what the best dog i ever had, she was a cross between a German Shepard and a Saint Bernard. I was also told to get geese they are very protective of their territory.I asked my vet about chips, he is for them , but when I told him my fears he said yes there is that, it is a choice you have to make, but he did not push it. He uses it and tattooing on his race horse's. I never thought about tattooing the inside lip, but I won't do it I won't even do that to myself. So it is freeze branding. As soon as the state approves my brand.

Joan, LOVE the picts of your girl! How cute is she?! Ours, Shooter, looks more Pyrenees except for being real leggy. He is just getting protective and has developed a deep bark. His favorite thing to do is ride in the golf cart while I feed - luckily he jumps right in because he is about 85 lbs. now at 9 months old - what a tank! I am really enjoying him.
We have a new addition to our in-house family today. My son is really a cat person (we already have two) and the feed store has two kittens that are just pitifully scared in the warehouse and of course, they are giving them away. So, he came home last week in tears over this kitty and a whole sob story....well, he has had four lizards for a few years now which he has lost interest in and I can't STAND. Not nice little cute ones, but a huge Savannah Monitor, a two foot Bearded dragon and two medium dragons. I have been begging both he and Eric to get rid of them for over a year now. When he came home and sulked for this kitty, I said when the lizards are gone, we would discuss it.
Of course you know that today they packed those nasty things up and took them to the exotic pet store....and now we have a new kitty.

Joan:
Your puppy is very cute! What does she think of the baby and vice versa? Down the street from my friend is an Llama/goat/sheep farm that also has a couple camels...It's always funny to see the Great Pyrs at feeding time....In the morning after feeding, the people have got the Great Pyrs trained to push the livestock down the hill (thru a alleyway) to the pasture....Then at night when they call the Great Pyrs they push them back up the hill and alleyway to be fed and overnighted closer to home...And gosh forbid if I stop on the road that borders the pasture to watch the camels or other livestock...The Great Pyrs are immediately on alert! They do a wonderful job!

Thanks ladies. She really is a beautiful dog and seems to look more like the Pyr too, she's really broad. Her hair isn't that long, but isn't as short as her mama's was but is very dense which is good for our winters. Linda... I know! I can't get away from the pretty markings! ;D I also have a red dun... err... orange tabby cat. Angela, those are some smart dogs! Abby seems to be really interested in all our animals and has been taking her protection job pretty seriously. She is pretty good with our baby although I've got to watch for her sharp puppy teeth! She is especially vigilant on watching our lambs. She goes to the barn with me to make sure everyone is accounted for and loves to let the lambs smell her. We've got six so far and still have around ten ewes left to go! Michelle, congrats on your lizard replacement! I am sure you are much happier with this arrangement. Shooter sounds like a good dog. I am super happy with Abby, I think I'll always have an LGD from now on.
