How long will she grow? How big of a rider can she carry?

At five she is close to being done growing, she may grow another inch. General rule is that a horse carries 20% of its body weight, including saddle. After that the horse's heart and breathing rate goes up and the soreness in their legs is much higher after a day's ride. Not sure what she weighs, close to a 1,000 pounds is my guess. So about 200 pounds or 170 pounds and a 30# saddle. Here is the article www.horsesciencenews.com/35/how-much-weight-can-a-horse-carry

Is she staying in your state or is she moving somewhere else? I hope the best for that nice mare.

She is staying here in Cali. The girl that bought her is young, she lives in ventura county, so it will be a lot like Washington for her. She will be on a big 1500 acre ranch, lucky horse!

Thanks Michelle, this is very hard for me. But she will be close and I can drop in all too see her. My room mate is delivering her tomorrow so he will look around for me and make sure everything is good.

Cool, just what a good horse should have! Thanks for keeping me in the loop CJ, I love knowing where all the "kids" are.
