Yes, it is the amniotic sac....
Pache is home and doing well. He has many staples and stitches, plus a drain. He is on enough anitbiotics to choke a rhino, but I only have to give him those for couple more days.....funny to give him stuff in the same vein I saw pumping (vet had taken a video of it too and could not wait to show me!).
He is one lots of herbs, MSM, natural pain meds and gut help due to the antibiotics. Thursday he goes all natural with Collidal silver and a host of other things. Will try to get a pict posted tonight, but Momma is a week overdue now and I am HOPING we will be on foal watch tonight!!

All I can say is kudoos to your vet that is mighty fine stapling and stitches Thankgoodness your boy will grow hair back and cover what ever mark remains. I am curious if he will as well grow a few white hairs to remember his incident by? it looks real good from the pic' I do not see much swelling, if any, at all. I got my fingers crossed and all that good stuff he steers clear of any infection and he should heal up real well. So good to see him on the mend ;D

Updated pict on Pache...healing very well ! Took all the staples and stitches out last week. He is back to being turned out with his buds and we spray grape seed oil w/tea tree on it every other day so no proud flesh forms. Also use lavendar and lemongrass oil on the stitch lines to keep the scarring down.

Yeah, I second that clearly amazing ...it looks great Michelle. Just awesome, you have done a wonderful job. You must share the recipe of grape seed oil and tea tree to keep proud flesh at bay. I would not mind having that one hung on my tack room wall.

me to Tiffany, Paches looks so good, will you share those recipes, and do they need to be kept refrigerated, especially since I live here in the desert...

Michelle:
WOW....Looking great! Would love some of those recipes too! And if you have a supplier you buy from via the internet...I always worry about the purity of some of that stuff. I love both grape seed oil and tea tree oil...I do have a balm that has grape seed extract but no tea tree....And tea tree is such good stuff!
