Is this a trick question?

Nope, not a trick question. It started out as this. Then I converted it to this. The saddle is a conversion of mine. It is actually a Mcclellan by Royal King. Melissa

Melissa, your saddle, in it's original state was designed and used specifically for what purpose? I have never seen a saddle like that before, just wondering what its original use was intended for.

Here are a few other items I have made in the past few months. Buckstitched and antique spotted chaps with matching vest. I posted a series of pictures.

These projects were made during bad weather when I couldn't do much of anything outside. The saddle conversion took one weekend. The chaps took a week in Dec. The vest took a week in Nov while I was ill with swine flu. I have to keep busy. So glad Spring is near! I'd much rather be outside. Sounds like it's been an interesting Winter for many of us. I was trying to figure out what disciline the saddle was designed for. Of course it is to ride in.....D'AH. That is quit obvious. I apologuise if my questions offend you, I will refrain from asking you questions in the future.

I believe the Mcclellan was the American military saddle back in the day.
Nice job Melissa! You are very artistically talented! Will you be using this at the WEG?

Kelly, oops I meant Karen, but the two of you are so much alike that I have a difficult time believeing you are not the same person. Your question was correctly answered by Kim J. Thanks Kim. Don't know what I plan to use at WEG yet. Melissa

Melissa,
Kim is right; you are very artistically talented! That is a beautiful transformation from a modern production McClellan saddle to Portuguese Presentation saddle (am I right??) Very, very nice where ever you decide to exhibit it!
