Mojito is on his way to Sarah's ranch in Lodi to spend a couple years with her. He will soon be standing to outside mares so watch for updates and pictures from Sarah. I'm thrilled to have such a great arrangement that enables him to stay a stallion and get some training. He's foundation bred out of Chinook and Sedona. Sedona is out of Doc Martin by J Belle, a Silverado x Kiger Quail mare. With his great mind, conformation and clear light grulla coloring I think he is going to be a stallion to watch. He is definitely equal to Rio Canyon at this same age and will likely finish at 15.3 or more. I'm really pleased with this grand colt and and feel he will be an asset to any breeding program. This arrangement will mean that he is available to outside mares where we don't have the facilities for them.

Yay! That means he's closer to me... Now how do I sneak Cali down there? Do you think my Hubby would notice? ;D

That would be a great cross Joan! Does Hubby still believes in the stork? How about "stallion jumped over the fence"? He's going to need a horse for family rides in a few years when you and Annie are out their exploring the hills together.

Thanks! I'm really tickled that this worked out. Its not actually a sale, I couldn't quite part with him forever. Sarah will have him for a few years and then he'll come back up here.

Oh-well that works out too--great arrangement for all!
Um...any way you'd work out a similar deal with Chinny? ;D

We are so very excited! It is sooo hard to wait patiently until he gets here! The hauler said that he should be getting here on Thursday or Friday depending on when some other horses are ready to be picked up. I will take pictures as soon as he gets here, I bet he is gonna be the fuzziest out of all the horses on the ranch, since winter hasn't really arrived yet, even though it has been a little chilly at night.
That would be very interesting Joan! I was going to breed Calista to him, so it would be very interesting to see similarities in the foals. Who knows...maybe we will come out with "twins" lol.

The prince is HERE!!! He unloaded fine and took a good look around at his surroundings. We put him in a covered pen and he walked around smelling everything. He only whinnied once, but had a good roll. He was able to flip over 5 times and get covered with dust. He then had a good drink from the waterer in the corner. He walked up to the tease boards several times to look out and the final time he very gingerly reared and placed his front hooves on the top of it to see if he had a chance of jumping it. I said that we were not gonna have any of that happening, so we moved him to the next pen over, which has a board running across the top to make that impossible. He was able to hang his head over the top of it or peak underneath, but he didn't try it again. We through him a flake of hay and I brought my mom's gelding up to put next to him as a buddy, since he wasn't next to anyone yet (everyone that is up right now are mares and fillies, so didn't want to have any romances going on). We will let him settle in and listen to a couple trains go by, so they won't surprise him. Jack didn't want to be outdone by a horse, so he found the biggest stick he could find and gave it to me as a present. Overall, he was very quite and didn't even try trotting around the pen like most of our TBs do, so it kind of surprised me that he quietly had tried to get out lol. I am sad that I have to be gone tomorrow, but he will have some time to settle in and talk to the local next to him.

Hoorah! El Príncipe está aquí! He looks great for just having traveled, Albert is the best. I'm sure he was glad to have a buddy in a new place. I'm sure he'll hear all the news and learn the ropes from him.
