Kigers form really tight bonds with "their" people, much like they do with another horse. They can be very jealous. When Lark and Cali were yearlings they would literally fight with each other over who got to walk next to me. I had to put one on each side of me to stay safe. Most of the "problem" mares I've had in my herd were ones that didn't feel like they were getting enough attention. To Stormy it may look like you have abandoned her for Riddle. Time and attention will work. Try saying hello to her first when you go out and making a fuss over her before paying attention to Riddle. Feed her first and let her know she is still your favorite.

since I have first loved on stormy then moved on the the other horse's she has gotten better with me. Today i was at the stables before my husband so i started feeding and she was first to got the hay, so she is letting me love on her. She is such a mess right now cause of the rains. I can't wait to get her out and brush her out. It is going to take me such a long while to get the mud off her, but I won't bath her it is to cold, so I will use the curry comb, and my brush's and go slow. It is nice to know she isn't upset with me anymore. nola

Well, I am glad to hear Stormy has settled and realized you still love her dispite Riddle coming into your life. Kiger hugs are the best and I am glad she is back to showing you affection. I marvel at how experessive they are and how forgiving they are as well.

Today I was grooming Stormy getting all the dried mud off her and she was just snorting up a storm, after i brushed her and picked out her hooves I turned her out to run and she had a ball. worked up a nice sweat. while she was in the paddock running sniffing and rolling i was cleaning her pen, it was a mess, but it is drying out now . As soon as i got her back in her pen after I re groomed her she peed a river and pooped a big pile and looked at me as if to say hey you forgot something. She is such a sweety. nola

well she is doing better now that Jim is riding her everyday for at least 30 minutes. She is such a sweet thing, I am hoping to ride her Saturday if it is dry, we here in Mesa have had allot of rain over night, I love the rain, we need it but it can play havoc on the riding.

last night I was taking Stormy out of her pen and to the paddock for a good run and roll, well if I feel she is pushy I make her slow down, and last night she made me slow down, she nudged me I was not very attentive to how I was tying her halter, and she was right, I didn't do the knot right, as soon as I redid it she was fine. Horses amaze me, they are so smart, loving and very forgiving, at least mine are. they have to be they have me for their human, and I am relearning everything.
