Yesterday was her last bandage change I thought I would snap some photos for you. We are getting close to the 2 week mark starting this coming Wed. she will start to get her twice a day 10 min. walks. Her hock is looking very well it is so nice to see it returned to normal size and no more swelling. I am not sure that you can see her black stitches against her black skin but those will also be removed later next week. She of course is pawing impatiently as I get the supplies for her last bandage. Being locked up and then tied up has not made her happy but the cool and calm pellets have greatly helped the situation. All set and ready to back to her stall. Owning horses these past 12 years has not only made me a professional fence mender but I can wrap a bandage as good as a vet as well. Of course horses never hurt themselves where it is easy to bandage and it will stay, it helps that Cleo's leg is shaved. My daughter insists she needs to wear pink

Yep' Cleo is doing well and I am glad to see her on the mend. Yet you get one on the right track and BAM! you get hit with another. It seems I am going to be popular with the OSU vet college this year. I am headed back there later this month sometime as I just found out today from my vet, my Clydesdales irritated goopy eye is caused from a growth on the third eyelid, most likely cancer that needs to be removed. I will be calling about making the appt. tomorrow when their offices open. Our horses are starting this year off with a bang.

Ugh, sometimes it just plain rains on you. Nice that you have such talented help within driving distance.

Yes, it is a relief that the vet college is just a few hours away. It makes the decision to have this surgery done so much easier. They keep the cost low and need the learning experience. I can easily make the trip and my horses are very well behaved so they are no trouble for them to handle. With the exception of Fantasy let's hope she never needs a trip there....knock on wood and all that. Cleo will start her walks tomorrow and gets her bandage removed today. She will be moved to a new stall as well. Fantasy will soon be spending nights in the barn and Cleo needs to be a stall away. As Fantasy can be a grumpy gal, reaching over the panel trying to bite at Cleo if they are next to each other.
