Hi, the time has come to either cut my stud colt Fierro or send him to a new home. I have no need of a stud horse and am wishing I could move him to my other pasture where there are mares so here we are. I think it is a shame to cut such a nice minded and handsome colt so I figured I would offer you all a chance at him first. He is a red dun, line backed, leg barring, the whole nine, standing 14.2 and about to grow a bunch. Should mature out between 15.1-2 but may reach 16, as his full brother and what he string tests at. Very sweet personality, safe to be around, doesnt bite or kick, gentle minded yet spirited. He isnt registered yet. Sire is Diamond Rio, dam is Luckys Trouble, both of Circle S. Private Treaty, possible trade Email: yurok_otter@yahoo.com for more info.

What another cute Mustang gelding! I am sure that there will be plenty of people that will enjoy a well sized Mustang gelding that is trained to ride! I love his face and his color!

He's a Kiger Mustang Kim.....and he is not a gelding yet. It would be nice if someone would take this colt and put him into a good riding program before making the decision to geld him. I like him. He reminds me of one of my colts. If it wasn't for already having two stallions, I'd definitely be interested in this guy. Fierro is an ecxeptional colt! I'd be proud to have him in my barn! He is a pretty nice looking boy ( and we all know my fondness for red dun... ), but I don't like the 16 hand part. Kigers just ain't s'posed to be that big!

Well Kim....some Kigers are that big. I don't see the colt pictured above reaching 16 hands though. Melissa

Thanks for the nice comments about my boy. He is special and very worth keeping intact if feesible. If I had the resources to build a stud fence, i could keep him a stud and not worry about it as much but I still want to eventually use him as a partner to help me when Im doing lessons and such and that means hauling him to some places that dont allow stallions.
I agree and dont think he will reach 16H, his brother Diablo is but maybe he was gelded early and so got more height, I dunno. I think Fierro will be 15H by November and mature out around 15.1. A very nice 15.1!
He only has a couple rides on him so far, but once he gets some time on him and knows what it is to work under saddle he he is going to be AWESOME. I just bought a new hackamore thats more his size w/ sorrel n white mecate to to use on him. Gonna be snazzy.

He is a really nice colt. Im sure he'll mature as he gets older as well and get even better. Wish I needed a stallion - lots of nice prospects out there. Hopefully someone will need a stud and can get him riding and out. We sure do need more riding kigers, thats for sure and ones like him would be a big PLUS.....nice job with him Yurok.

No I still have him, and hes still in tact. Theres been no interest at all actually. I have not really tried to sell him tho, only posted to you Kiger folks to give the Kiger community first crack at him.
I had to give him some time off in August because I was restarting a problem stallion for a lady here and it was very time consuming so I just kept Fierro going for a few weeks then ramped up again. Took him up to the high country for his first short trail ride last weekend, going hunting in the wilderness on him tomorrow.

I like him too Angel. But I'm A LOT closer (we're practically neighbors here) - too bad I'm not in the market. Actually, that's a good thing! ;D

I have always liked Fierro... Not the right time nor place.....
(No I don't need another stallion, no I don't need another stallion....I am going to keep telling myself that.)
